Lena Gruber, Art Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Lena, a New York licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Psychotherapist who is multilingual and multicultural, and who holds space for the parts of you that don’t always get heard. I bring over a decade of experience supporting youth, families, students, and clinical professionals across community, school, and crisis settings, with a deep commitment to offering the kind of care and resources that are too often hard to find. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to carry so much while trying to hold it all together. If you’re feeling stretched between worlds, roles, relationships, identities, or expectations, or like certain parts of you rarely get the space to breathe or go unseen, you’re not alone. If you’re looking for a space to make sense of things in your own way, you’re welcome to connect with me and discover what therapy can mean for you.
Are you a deep feeler, an over thinker, a high achiever, or a people pleaser? My clients are often students, clinicians, creatives, adoptees, BIPOC, and first generation individuals who are navigating identity, relationship dynamics, responsibilities, anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, overwhelm, burnout, trauma, or systemic stressors. They are often masking or silencing parts of themselves to meet expectations. Many are seeking a space where they do not have to explain their identities or experiences, where they can feel heard and seen without judgment or fear. They want support, clarity, and autonomy to show up fully both in therapy and in their everyday lives.
I offer unique understanding of intersectionality rooted in lived experience and aim to provide culturally and trauma-informed care. With a long-standing dedication to human development, attachment theory, and a gathered knowledge of specific cases, treatments, and approaches, I am committed to client-centered care tailored to each individual’s needs. Together, we’ll create a compassionate and supportive space that feels emotionally safe, flexible, and collaborative, guided by your intuition, goals, and lived experience, where your full self, voice, and unique form of expression are honored.
We’ll explore what matters most to you, whether that’s understanding relationship dynamics, processing life experiences or transitions, navigating identity, building coping tools, honoring your needs, or simply being heard. Creative tools like art, music, writing, movement, or even film and technology can be integrated into traditional talk therapy in ways that feel natural and supportive. I’ve seen how creative process in therapy can deepen connection, open pathways to expression, assist in emotional regulation and relief, and help people feel seen, empowered, and more fully themselves.
