Tharsana Kumarawsivam, Associate Social Worker
As a first-generation therapist of color, I am passionate about delivering culturally sensitive therapy to BIPOC and immigrants/those who are from immigrant families. I understand that there are cultural barriers to receiving therapy. My goal is to understand the backgrounds that my clients are coming from to deliver culturally informed therapy.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Binghamton University and my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Chicago. I offer CBT, ACT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and take a client centered approach to understand how I can meet your needs and goals.
Reaching out for therapy is a big step towards healing. I understand that this process is difficult and I want to be of support to you. Together, we will work together to identify the strategies that are useful for you and your unique identities.
