Shereece Saxton Harley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), and MSW who provides assessment and counseling services for individuals from early adolescence through adulthood. Shereece graduated from Methodist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy and continued her education, earning a Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also holds Early Childhood Education credentials and is in the process of working towards a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Shereece has worked in various settings, including intensive outpatient programs, schools, and community mental health settings. She works with individuals, couples, and groups who present depression, anxiety, adjustment challenges, mood disorders, repetitive relationship patterns that may disrupt romantic relationships, friendships, and working relationships, and self-esteem issues.
Shereece uses evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions to help clients reach their goals, increase coping skills, develop self-awareness, and challenge negative thoughts and behaviors. Shereece also uses the Empowerment Perspective and elements of Positive Psychology to support and motivate clients to influence positive self-perceptions and self-compassion.
