Neera Mehta Counselor, MS, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

My approach to therapy is focused on being collaborative, didactic and solution focused, while utilizing multicultural counseling competencies. My experience includes working in community mental health, K-12 schools, 2-year colleges and private practice, where I have addressed a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, transitions, racism, and multicultural issues. My primary interest is in working with adults motivated to engage in the process of personal growth.
I use evidence based practices e.g., CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, to alleviate symptoms and/or find solutions to presenting problems. I will use tools of active listening, empathy, teaching, coaching, guiding, modeling, and challenging to help you gain new perspectives and solutions.
I view therapy as a learning process of personal development, which requires the client to take responsibility for their life. I believe that every individual has within them the ability to change, which may lead to improved personal well-being. My goal is to provide a safe place where you can focus on personal growth and well-being.
