Mikaela Quintinita Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT
My therapeutic style is, first and foremost, collaborative. I believe in my clients’ capacity for healing, but what that looks like is up to them. My personal experiences as a a second-generation Filipino-American taught me the value of understanding how one’s cultural, societal, and family backgrounds impact individual experiences, as well as one’s perception of these experiences. Trained in systemic theory, I help individuals and couples understand their stories within the context of family, cultural, and societal systems. Clients are guided to utilize their unique strengths, talents, and resilience, to create change throughout the therapeutic process. I take a collaborative strengths-based approach by empowering clients to examine and challenge the stories that they have come to believe about themselves. I seek to provide a safe space for you to understand your own life story and the contextual factors that impact that story and to grow more into your own authentic Self.
