Marsha Cristales-Fontaine, LPC, LMHC
Hey! I’m a cisgender multi-generationally mixed woman, daughter of Salvadoreño immigrant parents, currently able-bodied, a lifelong learner, and a dedicated EMDR-trained psychotherapist. I am passionate about helping women, especially those from BIMWOC (Black, Indigenous, Women of Color) communities, reclaim their bodies as their own, develop radical self-compassion, and connect to their innate wisdom, free from external and internal judgments or expectations.
It is my conviction that your Spirit heals you. I acknowledge the spirit given to us by the Creator that moves each of us toward wholeness, no matter the painful experiences we’ve endured or the stories we’ve been told about our worth.
I embrace a non-pathologizing, culturally affirming, womanist/mujerista, and liberation-based psychology model of healing. My approach draws on integrative, evidence-based modalities relying on:
– Integrative EMDR (attachment-focused, somatic psychology),
– parts work (structural dissociation, internal family systems), and
– narrative therapy (re-authoring your story).
I also advocate for body liberation and the Health at Every Size (HAES®) paradigm, integrating mindfulness, attuned eating practices, and the wisdom of both my ancestors and chosen ancestors who guide my values of holding space with you, because you’re too valuable to bear the burden alone.
Working with me means reconnecting with the part of you that knows you are worthy of joy, belonging, and a full, liberated life. Together, we create a healing story that not only transforms your own life, but also empowers the next generations with new stories of resilience and dignity.
