I am Nigerian – American, immigrant, mother, sister, wife and aunt. I am passionate about the plight of minoritized & marginalized people. I can relate to the feeling of being torn between two powerful cultures, as you struggle to hold on to your heritage, values and identify as a person of color. As relentless as the systems are around us, so it is that we equally become relentless in the ways we invest in ourselves. Growing up in society where women were marginalized, children voiceless and men medicating their suffering with alcohol sparked my interest in social work.

I believe therapy should be integrative, collaborative with clients as they identify the issues they deem most important. It is my intention to provide the most appropriate and effective service using well – researched, best practice models and approaches. The framework of my work is heavily drawn from a trauma informed lens, and narrative theory. The client is the expert of their own stories, how they can use stories to make sense of the world and what happened to them. People are not passive victims but can be active in changing their stories and shaping the future they want.

My goal is to come alongside you in this journey of discovery as you begin to embrace your authentic self and the wonderful qualities that lies within you. I tailor my therapy intervention based on the needs presented. I am trained and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR) approaches methods into my practice.

I am skilled at supporting people struggling with anxiety, trauma, racism, immigration and acculturation stress, life changes, and relationship issues.

My formal education includes earning a master’s from University of Washington Seattle. I am a fully licensed substance use disorder professional license # CP 60214321. My social work associate license # SC61097113
