K. Slater Lin, Relational Care Therapy-Slater Lin PLLC
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and graduated from Seattle University in 2019. I am passionate in working alongside individuals from an intersectional approach that brings the awareness of oppressive structures and how they have pathologized people (ableism, classism, capitalism, racism, etc.). How do these structures impact you? How have they led you to internalize negative narratives about yourself? What areas of pain and “otherness” do you hold within yourself? Through my own work, experiences, and identities, I hope to provide a space that holds a balance of loving empathy, vulnerability, and directness to create a healing environment for you. Along with supporting clients, I am also a WA state approved supervisor, and provide licensing supervision as well as consultation. I am strongly rooted in a relational approach, where the relationship within the therapeutic setting is a core focus in the support I provide. I am passionate in supporting folx who are seeking to understand their deep pain, and find liberation within the self, while also building better connections/relationships with the people around them; to help people have an understanding of the systems of oppression that have impacted who they believe they are, and how to de-pathologize the self. For supervision/consultation, though I offer modalities/resources/suggestions on things that come up, my priority is to help support you in leaning into your intuition as a therapist, and harness what it means for you to hold this identity and be in this role. The goal is to support you in rehumanizing yourself, to help in guiding others to rehumanize themselves from a decolonized lens.
