Isabel Kim Counselor, MA, LMHCA, MACP

Hello! I’m Isabel. I work primarily with women desiring to work through childhood and relational wounds. In working with many individuals, I learned that much of the anxiety, depression, shame, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and emotional struggles originate back to painful experiences and relational ruptures in childhood.
One of the primary tools I use to facilitate healing is Attachment-Focused Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), a brain-based and integrative form of therapy to help alleviate and even resolve the effects of childhood and relational traumas. Rather than focusing all your effort in managing symptoms, a more lasting change can occur at the brain-level through EMDR.
As an Asian American counselor, I am able to empathize with the experiences of immigrant families, such as navigating traditional and generational tensions, including the unique strengths and struggles of being multicultural. I believe that finding a counselor that you feel is a right fit is very important. I would love to connect through a 30-minute free video consultation to listen to your needs and to answer any questions before scheduling your first appointment.
