Dominus Mental Health was established by Dr. Amenaghawon Ugwuede, DNP, PMHNP-BC, with the vision of delivering high-quality and evidence-based mental health treatment via telepsychiatry to individuals living in regions with restricted access and obstacles to mental health services. Dr. Ugwuede recognizes that certain communities, especially Black individuals and children of immigrants, face unique challenges when seeking mental health support. As a result, she has specialized in these areas and strives to provide culturally sensitive and affirming care that builds trust and understanding.
Dr. Ugwuede provides psychiatric medication management to individuals requiring additional support in combination with therapy. Her practice areas include ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. She works with patients to create personalized treatment plans based on mutual respect and their unique needs.
Dr. Ugwuede believes in personalized, empathetic care that prioritizes her patients’ well-being and autonomy. For Dr. Ugwuede, creating a safe and supportive environment is crucial. She wants her patients to feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health, knowing that she is there to support them every step of the way.
