Claudia Linares, Girasol Counseling PLLC

I am a daughter of immigrants; a daughter of the diaspora; a wounded healer; an intellectual, spiritual, and queer Chingon@. These are a few identities that influence how I interact / experience the world around me, and stories attached to them: past, present, and future.
I work from the belief that everyone has the inner capacity for healing ignited through self discovery and community. My role as a therapist is to facilitate healing and support your journey in homecoming to your essential self and your tribe/community of trust/sagna. I am committed to the work of de-stigmatization and decolonization of mental health that advocates for collective healing practices grounded in liberation, culture, and spirituality. In therapy, I use a holistic approach that includes Relational Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Nutritional Mental Health, Trauma Focused CBT, Trauma Focused Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Girasol’s work aims for the de-stigmatization and decolonization of mental health; and advocates for collective healing practices that are grounded in liberation, culture, and spirituality. I am a firm believer in collective healing: the power of connection, belonging, and love. Like a Girasol, I believe that we must look to each other for our collective liberation.
