Chloe Kimiai, LMHCA, NCC
As a Queer, mixed, Persian-American woman from an immigrant family, I bring lived experience and cultural humility to my work. I am deeply aware of how power, privilege, and systemic inequities shape mental health and access to care. My practice is rooted in anti-oppressive values, and I strive to create affirming, inclusive spaces where clients feel seen and supported in all their identities. I carry a calming, grounded presence. I am someone who communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and brings humor, adaptability, and high standards to every setting. I am skilled at collaboration and believe that therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to create goals and create an environment that focuses on client need and desire. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings clinical expertise, cultural insight, and a deep commitment to wellbeing, I’d be honored to connect.
I specialize in working with teens and young adults, and I bring over six years of experience as a Counselor in Seattle and Tacoma. My work is grounded in empathy, cultural responsiveness, and a deep commitment to equity and social justice. I have extensive experience supporting adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, identity development, trauma, and life transitions. I work closely with racially and ethnically diverse teens, LGBTQIA+ youth, including transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive teens, and youth with neurodivergence. I also have experience working with schools and families, and know the importance of a holistic approach.
My therapeutic style is integrative and flexible. I draw from CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, and I believe in balancing this based on each client’s needs. Whether a client just needs to decompress and chat or seeking structured support for a specific concern, I meet them where they are—with warmth, curiosity, and respect.
A little about me personally, I grew up in Renton and have spent the majority of my life in the greater Seattle area. Recently I moved to Tacoma with my wife and have been enjoying living a little further South. I am a Washington State University Alumni, where I studied Psychology, and then went on to get a Master’s degree at Seattle University in Counseling. I am a dog mom to two spirited and unique dogs, a German Shepard and a Shih Tzu. In my free time, I love to travel and eat delicious foods.
