Ariana Marciniak, MA
I am passionate about supporting the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and the Neurodivergent community (ADHD, Autism, HSP) and individuals facing challenges related to familial, relational, and social systems. I practice from a trauma informed, and culturally sensitive lens, paying attention to intergenerational trauma and the Indigenous culture of my immigrant clients. Furthermore, I am specifically focused on working with folx with alternative relationship constellations and sexual interests (Polyamory, CNM, Kink, BDSM, Ace/Grey). Together, we co-create a space to navigate the complexities of identity, helping reconcile tensions and heal from the psychological impacts of displacement, racism, and discrimination. My approach is grounded in client-centered and emotionally focused therapy, emphasizing empathy, understanding, and growth. I am committed to understanding my client from a systems lens, and believe therapy to be political and not neutral, because extracting a client from the oppressive environment can lead to inappropriate psychopathology of the client when actually the system is sick and not the client.
My values are rooted in liberation, accountability, decolonization, and building community. I understand how vital it is to have someone who truly listens. Personally and professionally, I believe in showing up in a genuine, authentic, and empathic manner, providing a non-judgmental space. I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment where you can be your authentic self, view change as an opportunity, and discover ways to thrive and not just survive.
