Seattle, WA: Common Threads Project Seattle Facilitator Training

Please join us for an interactive, collaborative, and creative facilitator training! The training schedule
includes therapeutic games, background on the neurobiology of trauma, group discussions, somatic
exercises, artmaking, stitching, story cloth-making, circle rituals, collective Care for Carers, and more.
Training to facilitate CTP Circles means that you’ll be prepared to lead CTP healing circles with a co-
facilitator within your organization or practice. The time commitment to facilitate a circle involves
approximately 5-6 hours/week for about 6 months, including 2 hour weekly group sessions, preparation,
documentation, and clinical consultation. The training is designed for experienced clinicians (art
therapists, social workers, psychologists, and mental health counselors, etc) who have conducted
therapy with trauma survivors. If you are interested to attend, please fill out this form to let us know
about your background and experience.
Training Process: 32 hours in person, followed by four 1-2 hour online sessions in the weeks following.
Full attendance for all training days is expected and completion of a storycloth is required before
facilitating a CTP Circle. An additional in-person advanced training of 20 hours will be scheduled 3-4
months after the first training. Circle facilitators also receive weekly clinical consultation provided by CTP
faculty during the 6 month intervention phase.
Materials: Common Threads Project Toolkit (manual) and art/textile
materials are provided.
CEs are available for social workers, mental health counselors, and art therapists, and for
psychologists in some states.
