Addressing Crisis Needs with Minoritized Youth

Minoritized youth are often overrepresented in youth justice systems and considered “delinquent” despite an emergent focus on trauma-informed care. Participants in this course will examine the disparities and ramifications of bias within systems, particularly the helping profession. Participants will also acquire a deeper understanding of their roles and how to improve service delivery methods for minoritized youth.

The workshop will address these issues through a combination of interactive dialogue, focused discussion, applied-practice exercises, and small group work.
